20th Anniversary Run!
We started the Turkey Trot in 2006 - and we are over the moon to celebrate 20 years of amazing events. We’ve had sun, snow, rain, even a pandemic - people just keep showing up to run on Thanksgiving morning! Stay tuned for more information about the events we are setting up for a Wednesday “packet pickup” celebration - we have big plans!!

Despite their good intentions, many people just didn’t get organized to register in time and found themselves on the wrong side of a sold out event this year. We truly do not want to happen to any of our regular attendees or restaurant customers. To encourage you to sign up early, we offer those registrations at discounted prices. The price of registration will increase throughout the year but, if the coming year is anything like 2025, we will sell out well before Thanksgiving week.
2025 was our biggest year ever, which allowed us to make a healthy contribution to Child Development Resources and smaller donations to Hospice House of Williamsburg, Meals on Wheels, Dining with Dignity, Avalon, WJJC Foundation, Housing Partnerships & Colonial CASA. The proceeds from our upcoming race will primarily go to benefit Colonial CASA - the Court Appointed Special Advocate’s office that intervenes to provide legal representation for children that are caught up in the legal system. We are thrilled to be able to team up with all of our runners and sponsors to support them as well as our other additional beneficiaries.
Not a runner? Our event would never work without the dedicated support of dozens of volunteers - from Packet Pick Up on Wednesday to the course clean up crew on Thursday morning. A really big “Thank You” to all of our great volunteers!
The 1 Mile Fun Run will start at 8:00 and the we are planning for the racers to be greeted at the finish line again this year by Santa & Mrs. Claus, making a guest appearance prior to setting up in residence around the corner on Boundary Street for family photos throughout December. Our 5K runners will be led by our own Fife & Drum team to the starting line and then run a beautiful course through Colonial Williamsburg and William & Mary. If you haven’t tried our run before, it’s spectacular this time of year.
