Blue Talon Turkey Trot is a Huge Success!
What a day! Over 70 degrees, sunny and great crowd of 500 - 600 gathered to make our First Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot a great event. The race was orchestrated beautifully, the weather was great, the participants were cheerful and we raised over $2,500 for Share Our Strength and their hunger relief efforts.t the top of Duke of Gloucester Street, run through parts of William and Mary campus and town, and end at the Blue Talon Bistro.
The overall importance of the event was underscored by the arrival of "Julia Child" as a Master of Ceremonies! Our own Chef David Everett was on site all morning keeping things on track. Chef Everett and the Blue Talon, along with generous support & donations from our suppliers, provided coffee cake, fresh fruit, croissants, coffee, bottled water, chocolate croissants, bagels and more for everyone present.
All that fun and excitement - and the organizers still had everyone headed home by 11:00 to enjoy their Thanksgiving Day with family & friends. It really was a great day and we hope that you will be able to join us next year.
